This week's Good News Friday showcases 2 amazing women breaking barriers in horseracing and law as well as an exciting partnership.

1. Riding to victory 

Rachael Blackmore rode A Plus Tard to victory, becoming the first female jockey to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Last season, Rachael was also the first woman to win the Champion Hurdle and Grand National.

2. Surreal success

Sultana Tafadar is believed to be the first hijab-wearing criminal barrister appointed to the Queen’s Counsel (QC). She describes that after “layers” of challenges she faced during her career, the honour seems “surreal”.

3. An empowering partnership 

UK bank Natwest and social media platform Meta have joined forces to launch new training and support for female entrepreneurs, through Meta’s #SheMeansBusiness programme. So far, more than 1.5 million women around the world have benefitted from the programme.
